Sorry, but I'm goin to be gettting rid of the signatures next week. They are a big incentive for bots to sign up, and it will clean up the look of the forum anyway. In return, I've increased the allowable avatar size to 130x130 instead of 100x100, so if you want to make any changes, you're welcome to do so.

no sigs at all. it's not the pictures that are a problem. it's just the fact that since we have sigs, it gives bots an incentive to sign up because they post their url in them. imo, they're unnecessary anyway. any info you want to give in a sig could be given in a post or in a website link.. i guess you can just take extra care to looking for a good avatar.

sure, man. that's why i made this thread a week before i did it. i want some input from anyone who's concerned before i actually make the switch. i'm not going to make the allowable avatar size over 16 kb though, because then it's a bitch for anyone with a slow connection. with a 130x130 avatar this really shouldn't be a problem, if you ask me.

i had a change of mind.. for now. i'll see if adding the new mods any making a few more addons will help the problem better, first. the avatar size is bigger, now though, still.

ryan do u really think that the sigs attract so many bots??i mean i really liked the idea of havin to activate the accounts when people signed up.. i dont know why but im not gettin those emails anymore to activate them.i thoguht that was the best way of gettin rid of them. when u started that we didn have any spam messages at all. the only prob was that they would still sign up, but they couldnt post. isnt there any way that you need to activate their account even befor ethe sign in. i really dont get why sppam bots attack the soulflyboard so badly there are so many phpBB boards that dont have those spam issues. let me know if i can help in any kinda way, tm i got my last exam

i had to turn that off right away it was basically like my personal account was getting flooded with a message every minute or two. i personally don't have to time to activate that many accounts.. if you would really want to do it, more power to you, but it's a lot of work.
