Soulfly New Album "Enslaved" due March 13, 2012

Soulfly will release their eighth studio album, Enslaved, on March 13, 2012, marking their 15th anniversary as a band at the same time. The lineup on Enslaved features frontman Max Cavalera and guitarist Marc Rizzo, with Static-X's Tony Campos taking up the bass and brand-new drummer David Kinkade taking over behind the kit.

Enslaved was recorded at Tallcat Studios in Phoenix, Arizona and was produced by Zeuss, in collaboration with Max Cavalera.

As is customary with Soulfly, the band will introduce some new and unexpected elements into the mix, including a guest violinist. Soulfly also collaborates with two metal veterans: Dez Fafara of DevilDriver and Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation. Ryan said it was "an honor to receive a call from someone you had pictures of on your wall as a kid."

Cavalera also wrote a song "Revengeance" about his slain stepson Dana, whose death was the catalyst for the creation of Soulfly. He partners with his sons Igor and Richie on vocals, while his other son Zyon plays drums. It is the first time he has performed with three of his sons.

11 of 14 recorded tracks will make the final album, so for all you hardcore fans of our tribe, be sure to look out for the "Special Edition" of the album for the remaining 3 songs.

I hear what your saying man, but they both kick ass and remain hard and brutal ....like Metallica were once a bad ass band, now look at them.

@Joe Long - Laid Wasted: Yeah before Tony joined Soulfly it was exactly the same lineup save for Iggor (as Johnny was touring with Soulfly). I do think Marc needs to leave one of the bands else all the creative energy of Marc and Max will be spread too thin and wear out quickly. Perhaps if Zyon's willing to play bass, add Zyon on bass and Iggor Jr on guitar? Proper Cavalera Conspiracy right there.

@fb_philip_whitehead: yo bro im sure no-one was directing anythin at you. On the other hand, can't wait for the album! Should be brutal as fuck, which is awesome, but Max needs to make Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy different again. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that Omen and Blunt Force Trauma were by the same band! The real "soulfly" or tribal elements need to come back! Let Your Soul Fly!!!
