I noticed there was no topic on here about this band so i thought i'd make one. they are one of my favorite experimental metal bands and i would say they certainly had as large of an impact as anyone on the evolution of the american grind and doom sound as anyone. in my opinion, they are very underappreciated. steve austin is a very inspiring artist!

..and the list of awesome metal musicians who've played as a member of today is the day on one of their is albums tremendous.. (members have been full time members in such bands as mastodon, hate eternal, anal cunt, and more)

on saturday, november 15th, they were in st. paul playing with count vesuvius and ambassador gun (who some of you might remember me posting about before under the name a second from the surface). Today is the Day was supporting their new album Axis of Eden with a feature length film that they played to.. check out the photos/review i captured here: http://mindinversion.wordpress.com/2008 ... turf-club/

haha... well look closer!

it's Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher (of MASTODON). On the release of TitD's 1999 album, In the Eyes of God - ...one of their best if you're asking me.. - they provided the rhythm section!
